The Opening Ceremony of the Geneva Forum on East Asia will focus on the role that East Asia plays in global governance, shedding light on the links between East Asia and the rest of the world, and offer participants the first glimpse at the Forum's other activities. The central themes of this event includes: multilateralism, contemporary geopolitics, economic globalisation and building bridges between East Asia and the rest of the world.

Opening Ceremony:

The opening ceremony of the Forum is intended to provide an overview of current topics related to East Asia as well as a first taste of the Forum's other events. The central themes of this event will be multilateralism, contemporary geopolitics, economic globalisation and building bridges between East Asia and the rest of the world.

Goals

  • Fill in the academic knowledge gap on East Asia within the student body in geneva

  • Foster a better understanding of East Asian perspectives and policies

  • Provide students with opportunities to exchange and network with academics and professionals working in fields related to East Asia

  • Set the stage for following events across the five-day forum

  • Provide a macro perspective of contemporary affairs concerning East Asia

  • Build academic and practical bridge between East Asia and the rest of the world
