On May 2, 2022, CEAS, along with Open Economics, hosted the Economic Conference: Game-changer or Game-maker? 20 Years of China in the WTO. World Trade Organization's Deputy Director General (DDG) Xiangzhen Zhang delivered the opening remarks discussing China's ascension to the WTO. The panel discussion, which was moderated by Professor Robert Koopman, featured panelists Professor Zi Yuan, Professor Xiankun Lu, and Ms. Aditi Sara Verghese. Panelists discussed issues such as recent trade wars and Covid-19's effect on US-China economic decoupling and the possibility of China participating in the CPTPP (Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership). The event proceeded with a Q&A from audience members.

We thank DDG Zhang, Professor Robert Koopman, Professor Zi Yuan, Professor Xiankun Lu, and Ms. Aditi Sara Verghese for participating in the Economic Forum. For more details on the event, check out The Graduate Press team's article on the conference.
